Food Alert

Marks & Spencer has removed 12 Garlic & Coriander Butterfly Prawns from sale.

This product should not be eaten by people with Dairy Allergy, as the product contains butter that is not stated in the Allergy Information panel. (The presence of butter is correctly declared in the ingredients list and also given as part of the product description on front of pack however).

If the Allergy Information panel is solely relied upon, there may be a risk for those consumers who are allergic or intolerant to milk or butter. The product concerned is detailed above and has already been removed from stores. Production has been temporarily stopped, and the product will be re-labelled with the correct allergy advisory information.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) advises that food allergic individuals do not rely solely on the information provided in the Allergy Information panel, and to check the ingredients list when making purchasing decisions.

Any customers in possession of this product who have an allergy/intolerance, or who wish to exchange the product, can return it to their nearest store where a full refund will be given.

No other Marks and Spencer products are affected.
